The FCDC’s is having it First Meetups in Abuja and Lagos!!

In today’s digital age, where freelancers collaborate virtually for the most part, it’s easy to forget the significance of real-world connections.

At the start of 2022, we had about 400 FCDC members from all over the world, this year, we’ve grown to over 2,500+ amazing members with over 1,300 members living in Nigeria!

We understand the importance of in-person meetups as a community and we are happy to announce that we will be having our very first meetup in Lagos and Abuja, Nigeria!

Why we are having In-Person Meetups.

Freelancing can be a bit of a lonely activity and while technology has made it easier for freelancers to work from virtually anywhere, face-to-face meetings provide a unique set of benefits:

1. Networking Opportunities

The essence of any successful freelance career is effective networking. Real-life meetups create opportunities for freelancers to expand their professional circles, share ideas, and even collaborate on exciting projects.

This direct, personal interaction can lead to lasting partnerships and business growth for our members. The FCDC’s meetups will be a great opportunity for our members to connect and network!

2. Endless Opportunities To Collaborate with One another.

The FCDC meetups in Abuja and Lagos will encourage collaborative thinking. We have freelancers with different skills at the FCDC, not just marketing, we have graphics designers, people in data, web development, and more!

Someone might meet a graphic designer who could complement their web development skills or a content writer who can enhance your marketing campaigns.

3. Inspiration and Motivation.

Freelancers often find themselves working in isolation, and this can sometimes lead to feelings of burnout or creative stagnation, especially at the end or start of the year.  The FCDC meetups in Abuja and Lagos are an opportunity for freelancers to recharge, find inspiration, and draw motivation from fellow freelancers.

Being part of a community where others can relate to your struggles can provide a morale boost and the motivation to push through these hurdles.
