Our community had the pleasure of coming together for our very first meetups in Abuja and Lagos, Nigeria.
These meetups were generously sponsored by Turn Global, WithFrontier, Top of the Funnel Community, and Digitaloft.
We ensured that these events were not just about networking but also about learning and enjoying some yummy meals.
In Abuja, on the 30th of December 2023, we met at the Sinoni Chinese Restaurant in Garki.
It was great to finally see folks in person and not through usual Slack messages and social media.
A week later, on the 6th of January, we gathered at La Mango Restaurant in Lagos.
These meetups were more than just social gatherings; they were a testament to the power of community.
We had a round table discussion about whatever freelancing/marketing queries our community members may be experiencing.
Some of the things we discussed were:
We got to meet with a few trainees from the very first technical SEO cohort trained by Aleyda Solis.
They shared insights into their career progression since completing the cohort and where they are now.
Another highlight was hearing other community members talk about how they’ve benefited from the community.
Our founder, Chima Mmeje, gave us a brief motivational talk on how it’s possible to earn well for your work and finalized it with an unforgettable slogan – “No gree for POVERTY” (meaning don’t let poverty win! Fight it).

Huge thanks once again to our sponsors, Turn Global, WithFrontier, Top of the Funnel Community, and Digitaloft.
Here’s to more successful meetups with our community members all over the world!
